DCS WORLD NEWSLETTER 27.03.2026
Voice Chat Development Report Improvements inbound!

We’re excited to bring you a closer look at the upcoming expansion to the DCS Voice Chat, as first mentioned in our 2026 roadmap. This update will introduce new radio roles that can be operated by human players, giving mission designers the tools to create fully interactive player-voice communications within their missions. You will be able to communicate seamlessly using both AI and player-controlled units, adding a new level of immersion to your online scenarios.
Flexibility is at the heart of this new system. With the updated Mission Editor, mission creators can assign radios to a wide range of entities that includes air, ground, and naval units, as well as static objects like airfield control towers. Once set up, these radios appear as selectable slots at mission start, allowing players to jump into roles like an AWACS operator, forward observer, or ATC controller.
Each radio is directly linked to its host unit, making full use of DCS’s advanced radio simulation. Factors such as line-of-sight, frequency management, and real-time voice processing will all affect signal quality, just as they do in real-world operations. Radios are now an integral part of the battlefield, and they can be taken out if their host unit is destroyed, adding a fresh layer of tactical depth to your missions.
To make things even more accessible, we are developing a lightweight client that lets users join missions in a communications role without launching the full DCS application. This paves the way for integration with popular third-party tools like LotATC, and makes it easier than ever to bring dedicated controllers and support personnel into your multiplayer sessions.
This feature is currently in testing, and we look forward to sharing more as development continues. In the meantime, we invite you to try out the current Voice Chat system and experience its real-time radio effects, which already offer unique audio characteristics from World War II to modern-era communications.

The system can monitor multiple contacts simultaneously, slewing sensors and designating targets while leaving final engagement control in the pilot’s hands.

Wings Over Normandy from AMVI Season 3, Chapter 2 is live now

Season 3, Chapter 2 of Wings Over Normandy Server is now live. This marks the return of one of the most structured and strategically engaging WWII multiplayer campaigns in the DCS multiplayer scene. Hosted by our friends at AMVI, this event-based server offers focused, high-intensity operations where teamwork, planning, and precise execution are the keys to victory.
Unlike persistent servers, Wings Over Normandy features focused 'spot' campaigns that run for one to two months at a time, several times each year. This approach encourages large, meaningful participation, with every sortie making a real difference to the overall campaign's progress. Your actions matter, and the momentum of battle shifts in real time based on your decisions.
One of the key features of this campaign is a lively and dynamic battlefield that responds directly to your individual and team actions. Destroying strategic targets reshapes the front lines, while logistics hubs and infrastructure are necessary for each side to sustain operations and gains on those front lines. Disrupting supply routes, lines, and logistics reduces aircraft availability and weakens the front, creating a living, breathing battlespace that rewards coordinated strikes and prudent planning.
As an added feature to help you get the most out of your experience, a comprehensive statistics platform is available on the official website. Both individual pilots and squadrons can track campaign progress in real time, from personal sortie results to coalition standings. This transparency not only enhances immersion but also encourages friendly competition, giving you a clear picture of how every mission contributes to the overall war effort.
If you are looking for a DCS WWII campaign where every decision counts and teamwork leads to victory, Wings Over Normandy delivers a compelling and ever-evolving battlefield to test your skills. We encourage you to join the action and make your mark. Visit their website at https://www.wingsovernormandy.com/ or join their Discord at https://discord.gg/UNthuPEYVA.
