AIM-120 AMRAAM has received a separate INS (Inertial Navigation System) unit with datalink support. The missile seeker model has been completely revised. The radar dish now uses a realistically gyro stabilized gimbal that is controlled by the INS before target lock. An active missile seeker, like that in the AIM-120, will have its detection and tracking lock range based on physical calculations of noise and target signal ratio (which in turn depends on target RCS or ECM power and range). Target search and tracking is based on doppler velocity filtering (introduced realistic velocity gate), and the radar will search for a target near the target reference velocity provided by the INS. The guidance law was also updated. Missile seekers have received Kalman filters that estimate target motion parameters. The new guidance law accounts for target normal to LOS accelerations, possible target G-load growth rate, compensate for missile x-axis acceleration, and missile control system latency.

After a short pitch down and alignment Petrovich will return to hover. It is advised to order ATGM align in hover after the course was adjusted to suit direction to target. Also, it is advised to order hover ATGM align to distant targets as angle to close targets may be too steep. (Known issue: after first ATGM alignment order Petrovich stops reacting to short UP command to change course, will still react to ATGM align order. Temporary workaround: after setting course for Petrovich interface HSI with short UP, switch mode with short LEFT from CBTM to HVR and Petrovich will react and adjust course, then switch back to CBTM).

The Cothesis tutorial campaign for beginners has been added. The campaign is conducted in the form of a tutorial and based on the story line of Rising Squall. If you have the Rising Squall campaign, you will automatically get this campaign when updating. The campaign will continue to be updated after release to add new content and custom comics. Dubbing will also be released gradually in future updates. At present, this small campaign includes a total of 16 missions. The following is the basic description of the campaign:
The campaign are special tutorial missions under the F/A-18C Rising Squall Campaign DLC. It will take you from shallow to deep to be familiar with many basic functions and methods of using the F/A-18C Hornet. The tutorial is based on the INVERTED world under Rising Squall and some contents have been modified and simplified relative to the ED official tutorials for beginners. Therefore, this tutorial is not equivalent to the ED official tutorial, instead it focuses more on functions and application.In case of contradictions in some descriptions involved, the ED official tutorial shall prevail.

- Camera system rework:
The camera functionality has been reworked and will now stay on target much better than before and try to return to its stabilized position after having reached its gimbal limits.
The Viviane is a gyro stabilized sight not capable of locking on to IR signatures or image contrast but with the improvements to the camera system, essentially removing most of the previously experienced jitter, it will be easier keep your sight on target while launching HOT-3 missiles on the move as long as you stay within the gimbal limits.

Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Combat AI Improvements:
- Available BVR tactics and skill of execution is highly dependent upon AI Skill Level setting.
Added timer for missile evasive manoeuvres when notching. This better allows the AI to defeat a radar operating in Memory (MEM) mode.
AI will use airspeed and altitude based on Skill Level to optimise missile launch kinematics. It will try to be fast and high.
AI will maximise distance between aircraft and target at time of missile impact, based on Skill Level, by using offsets (crank) and reduced airspeed.
Based on Skill Level, AI will appropriately use lead, pure, and lag intercept geometry.
AI will use a low slice in an offset/crank manoeuvre to force an incoming missile into denser air, provide the AI more manoeuvrability, and force hostile radar into a look-down.
Based on Skill Level, AI will use different defensive manoeuvres such as look down clutter notch and reversal/extensions.
AI will randomly use the direction of offsets (cranks) and notches.
Use chaff when the missile is 60 degrees off the nose. This allows the AI to use chaff more effectively when abeam of the threat radar.
Aircraft without radar guided missiles will not climb and accelerate to intercept the enemy.
Note: Basic Fighter Maneuver (BFM) for jets improvements are planned for a June, 2022 update.

Add TSD Threat Rings. Threat rings are based on hostile air defence units placed in the Mission Editor that are not “Hidden on MFD”. To display, select TSD SHOW at T3, COORD SHOW at T6, and then PLANNED TGTS/THREATS at L5. Yellow rungs indicate estimated detection range and red rings indicate estimated engagement range. When enabled, threats will also be listed on the COORD page, COORD list.
