DCS: F-100D RHAW Development Report by Grinnelli Designs

Time is running out to preorder the DCS: F-100D Super Sabre by Grinnelli Designs. You can pick it up at 30% off from either the Eagle Dynamics E-shop or Grinnelli Designs' own webstore.

Grinnelli Designs continues to showcase progress on the upcoming DCS: F-100D Super Sabre, this time highlighting the aircraft’s AN/APR-25 Radar Homing and Warning system. Designed to detect radar energy, the AN/APR-25 provides both visual and audio cues to help identify and react to potential threats. Radar contacts appear on the azimuth scope as directional lines, giving pilots critical situational awareness in the heat of combat.

To bring the experience to life, the Grinnelli team has developed a custom RHAW audio synthesizer that recreates the unique character of early radar warning systems, with each radar emitting distinct tones, buzzes, rattles, and warning cues based on scan patterns, pulse behaviour, modulation, and beam width. The result is a tense and immersive Cold War-era cockpit environment where the AN/APR-25 feels noisy, imperfect, and alive, capturing the atmosphere and pressure of early radar-guided air combat in DCS: F-100D Super Sabre. Check out the progress in this video!

Also, remember, Grinnelli Design has their own booth at the FSExpo in St Paul, MN, June 12-14, 2026. If you can, stop by, say hello and take the Super Sabre for a spin or a Sabre Dance!

DCS: F-14 Tomcat Early Access Completion

From the Heatblur Simulations HQ:

We are pleased to announce that the next update for the DCS: F-14 Tomcat by Heatblur Simulations will mark a major milestone: The F-14A/B will be leaving Early Access.

Since its initial release, the Heatblur F-14 has grown into one of the most expansive aircraft modules in DCS. What began as a deeply researched recreation of the F-14A and F-14B has continued to grow over the years with JESTER AI, two-seat multiplayer, the Forrestal-class aircraft carrier, extensive mission and campaign content, additional aircraft configurations, visual refinements, A-6E Intruder AI, and a long list of systems improvements.

This update will deliver the remaining major features for the F-14A/B, and it will further expand the historical breadth of the Tomcat family.

A major highlight is the introduction of the F-14A Export variant, adding another important configuration to the module and broadening the Tomcat's representation beyond its U.S. Navy service. This update also adds the AIM-7E Sparrow and basic TARPS functionality with the KS-87D camera that will allow players to explore the Tomcat’s important reconnaissance role.

A significant focus of this update is visual and configuration accuracy across the F-14A family. The aircraft has received a substantial set of external model additions and options that enable a more faithful representation of various Tomcat blocks, service periods, and configurations. These include glove vanes, early gun vents, ALQ-126 blisters, TCS bullet and round covers, the missing small antenna on the TCS, and external model support for aircraft configured with or without TCS.

Together with additional early F-14A liveries, the historical authenticity and visual variety of the module is significantly improved. From early fleet aircraft to export configurations and later-service details, the Tomcat’s evolving shape and character can now be represented with greater fidelity than ever before.

As part of this milestone, the remaining campaign roadmap has also been reviewed. Because the F-14 has received substantial additional content since its original launch, including additional missions and campaigns like Operation Reforger II, Heatblur has decided to move the dedicated Persian Gulf early F-14A campaign to a post-release date. We apologize for this change and understand that some of you have been looking forward to it. The decision allows the campaign to receive the attention, polish it deserves, rather than rushing it into this final pre-release milestone.

The F-14A/B leaving Early Access does not mark the end of Tomcat development. It marks the completion of the original core module roadmap and the beginning of the next chapter for the Tomcat family in DCS.

We thank you all for your very kind patience and for walking this incredible journey with us. Stay tuned as more news about the state of the F-14B/U will follow shortly.

Upcoming MB-339A Update, G.91 Development Status

We have completed an early version of the Depression Table for the DCS: MB-339A, covering all usable weapons, and we would like to share it with you as a preliminary preview.

Please note that this table has not yet been fully validated in-game, as the team's current efforts are primarily focused on bug fixing for the MB-339 and ongoing development work on the G.91. The values provided are the result of calculations based on the official Manuals, cross-referenced with DCS ballistic data.

We are sharing this preliminary version to gather your input; the final, fully validated table will be integrated into the official module and distributed via a future update. Any feedback or comments you can provide will be highly appreciated.

Upcoming MB-339A Update
We are currently working to deliver a new update for the MB-339 in the near future. This patch will introduce several fixes, addressing known issues with the:

- Flight Director
- Altimeter
- Weapon System

Additionally, the weapon system update will integrate the capability to utilize the AIM-9P, AIM-9L, and Magic II Air-to-Air missiles.

G.91 Development Status
Furthermore, we will soon release a status report regarding the progress of the G.91. This update will provide a technical overview focusing on its flight model, engine simulation, and stability augmentation systems.

DCS: F-14B Upgrade - Pre-order Now

The DCS: F-14B Upgrade by Heatblur Simulations is now available for pre-order at $49.99 USD!

The legendary F-14 Tomcat is without a doubt one of the most iconic combat aircraft ever created: a powerful, two-crew, variable-geometry carrier fighter that defined an era of naval aviation. Originally designed as the U.S. Navy’s fleet defender and long-range interceptor, the Tomcat evolved throughout its long service life into a far more capable multirole aircraft, equally at home in air superiority, fleet defense, reconnaissance, and deep precision strike.

The DCS: F-14B Upgrade represents one of the most important late chapters in that evolution. Built as an expansion for existing owners of DCS: F-14A/B Tomcat, the F-14B Upgrade brings the aircraft into its later, modernized form: a 2000s all-weather, multirole air superiority and precision-strike fighter, equipped for the era of modern warfare while preserving the raw power, character, and two-seat teamwork that made the Tomcat unforgettable.

F-14B(U) Features - What to Expect

Key features include the new VDIG-R with a modernized HUD, PTID, JDAM / GBU-31 integration, EGI navigation, Mission Data Loader, DFCS, ALE-47 countermeasures, ALR-67 integration, AN/AVX-3 Tactical Imaging Set, updated cockpit and exterior art including new pilot models and helmets, JESTER improvements, new instant action missions, new in game browser elements like manual and explain-me feature, and two new campaigns: Operation Reforger III over Cold War Germany and a tailor-made F-14B Upgrade campaign by Baltic Dragon to be added after release.

“The F-14 has always been more than an aircraft to us. It is our life’s true passion, and with the F-14B Upgrade we are returning to the Tomcat in one of its most capable, most exciting, and most evolved forms. This is not a replacement for the Tomcat you already know. It is the next chapter: still dangerous, still loud, still demanding — forever beautiful, forever Tomcat.”

— Heatblur Simulations

The DCS: F-14B Upgrade is available as an expansion for existing owners of DCS: F-14A/B Tomcat, and is also available together with the base Tomcat module as part of the DCS: F-14 Ultimate Edition, currently at $98.99 USD for a limited time. The Ultimate Edition brings together the complete Heatblur Tomcat experience, including the F-14A/B, F-14B Upgrade, JESTER AI, multiplayer pilot/RIO functionality, Forrestal-class aircraft carrier, A-6 AI aircraft, AIM-54 Phoenix, LANTIRN, multiple Tomcat variants, five campaigns, and the largest mission set Heatblur has ever delivered.

Pre-order at $49.99 USD from either the DCS E-Shop or the Heatblur Store, and be ready to experience the Tomcat’s next chapter.
